If you find yourself in Melbourne over the summer months, then visiting some rooftop bars should be top of your list. When the sun’s beaming, there’s nothing better than towering above the busy city in a bar surrounded by fairy lights, potted plants and all round chilled vibes that transport you to another place entirely.
As with lots of things in Melbourne, there’s an overwhelming choice when it comes to rooftop bars so I’ve put together a few of my favourites. Each has it’s own personality so I’ve also included what type of occasion it might be best suited for. Take a read, make a choice and then make the most of the tail end of summer in Melbourne.

23-25 Hardware Lane, CBD
City life isn’t city life without after work drinks and Melbourne isn’t Melbourne without cool as hell venues for the occasion. When it comes to clocking off after a hot day and grabbing an Aperol Spritz or two, Campari House is perfectly nestled among the skyline with umbrella’s and heaters that cope with all weathers. Drop by this laneway rooftop any day of the week and you’ll find plenty of Melbournians enjoying the nighttime feels.

OneSixOne – Breakfast Club
161 High Street, Prahran
This rooftop isn’t for everyone and most people will never get the chance to wait patiently until their ticket number is called, granting them access to the intimate rooftop bar at OneSixOne. Reason being? Because Breakfast Club takes place on a Monday. For the students, hospitality workers and those who are successfully resisting the 9-5 societal norm, this place is THE place to be on a sunny Monday. If one day you can make it, put on your sunnies, bring some glitter and listen to the pumping house tunes from 9am onwards.
$20 Tickets available on the door and online.
So that’s 7 rooftop bars to visit before summer’s out! There are also 7 days in the week. Take that how you wish 😉
