Our First 2016 Adventure – 3 Weeks Along The East Coast!

east coast travel, cairns

The time has finally come to pack our rucksacks and head out into the Australian outback! Well, not quite, but it’s a change of scenery from our humble Melbourne City where we have set up home for the past 7 months. We are currently sat on our Tigerair domestic flight to Sydney where we will be meeting James’ parents and setting off on our first proper road trip here in Australia!

I am more than excited to be travelling again, except this time maybe a little more so since we will be doing things a little more stylish (no hostels in sight!) and have the the luxury of 4 wheel drives, hotels, apartments and actual restaurants! Flash-packing if you will. Anyway, there’s lots to look forward to and the next three weeks are going to include plenty more firsts and bucket list activities (diving the Great Barrier Reef for one!), so here’s our itinerary; activities are yet to be confirmed but that’s all part of the excitement…!

Sydney – 2 Nights

Port Stephens – 2 Nights

Port Macquerie – 2 Nights

Coffs Harbour – 2 x Nights

Byron Bay – 2 x Nights

Brisbane – 1 Night

Port Douglas – 7 Nights

We’ve borrowed a friends GoPro so stay tuned as there will be plenty of footage while we explore new coasts, wineries, rain forests, dive in the ocean, climb bridges, toast glasses and celebrate birthdays!
